Doctor with Patient

The human body is the most fascinating machine.  It has a memory of past trauma, whether physical, emotional, or surgical.  That trauma can be stored in the tissue and manifest in you as physical pain, stress, inflammation, fatigue, insomnia, heartburn, and depression, to name a few.  With an Osteopathic, hands-on approach, all of these can be addressed through a variety of manual diagnostic and treatment techniques.  My approach is intended to be complementary to the standard medical care of your primary care physician.

How is Life in Balance Osteopathic Medical Center Approach Different from Traditional Medical Care?

Your body is not just one part but an entire living and connected being. Your genetics, nutrition, relationships, exercise, and emotional health can influence your overall body health and well-being. Unfortunately, many factors can cause your body to become imbalanced as “life happens.” At Life in Balance Osteopathic Medical Center, I take a comprehensive, evidence-based, and whole-body approach to pain treatment and trauma recovery.

Effectively Treating the Root Cause(s) of Your Disease or Pain

For the body to function properly, it’s structure must be in the best alignment possible. For example, if the ribs are not moving properly, the lungs cannot fully inhale and the lymphatic system cannot mechanically rid the body of illness. If the lungs cannot mechanically expand the downstream effect is that the blood flow from the lower half of the body will not effectively return to the heart and the body stays stuck in a cycle of stagnant disease. For you, this may manifest as chronic shoulder pain – a symptom which is remote of the actual root cause. If you are seen as a ‘shoulder’ you will be evaluated just as a shoulder.

I pride myself on digging deeper. My treatment approach is to focus on restoring movement and stability to the system. This may be by optimizing the fluid balance within the body or stabilizing the tendons and ligaments that support the structure and framework of the system, thus improving strength and range of motion which are required for optimal function and less pain. Our shared goal is to get you back to the quality of life that you deserve. Together, we will work to combine my experience as a primary care doctor (for nearly two decades) with proven osteopathic treatment to utilize an integrative and comprehensive wellness approach for individual needs and goals. This includes a thorough intake visit to establish a functional timeline on how your health issue may have started and develop your treatment plan.

Board-Certified Physician in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine

I have special training in the musculoskeletal system and the body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles, and bones. This medical treatment uses proven diagnostics and treatment paths to aide in your recovery. How To Avoid the Traditional Medical Treatment Approach and Insurance-Driven Care

Unfortunately, the traditional medical care model is to wait for disease, trauma, or an abnormality to occur and then recommend what is often a “band-aid” treatment rather than solve the reason why the system went wrong in the first place. This may often mean only prescribing medication and options that are limited by what insurance will cover, like steroid injections or surgery. This may not effectively treat the root cause of your medical problem and could have potential long-term complications.

Disease is an impaired function of what is fundamentally a normal body anatomy. As a comprehensive osteopathic physician, I am uniquely trained to help you find the optimum health and overall wellness you deserve.

This includes discovering how your health issue may have started and then finding your best treatment options. As an osteopathic doctor, I will focus on your body’s optimal function, create a better treatment path, and optimize your overall body function and emotional health.
