Thank you for choosing Life in Balance for your care. A missed appointment without advanced notice does not allow for another patient to benefit from Dr. Gruber’s time. Because of this, we require a credit card to be kept on file. This card will only be charged a $100 fee in the event of a no-show or if a change or cancellation is not made within the 48-hour policy (two business days).
Sick Policy For Patient Appointments
To help keep our patients and staff healthy, please contact our office before your appointment if you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, including:
- Fever or chills
- Cough, sore throat, congestion, or flu-like symptoms
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Shortness of breath
- Eye redness or drainage
- New rash
- A known contagious illness (such as COVID-19, influenza, strep throat, or a stomach virus)
Because OMT is a hands-on treatment, patients with contagious symptoms may be asked to reschedule until they are no longer infectious and their symptoms have improved.
Depending on your situation, we may:
- Reschedule your appointment,
- Offer a telehealth or phone visit when appropriate, or
- Ask you to wear a mask for your visit.
In general, patients may return for in-person care when they have been:
- Fever-free for 24 hours without medication,
- Free from vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours, and
- Experiencing improving symptoms.
If you need to cancel due to an acute illness, please notify our office as soon as possible. Cancellation fees may be waived at the provider’s discretion. If you’re unsure whether you should keep your appointment, please call our office before arriving. We’re happy to help determine the best next step. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone in our care.
To proceed with scheduling, please call our office at (586) 465-2308.
